Ethan Trent, brother of Purdue superfan Tyler Trent, earns scholarship on Boilermakers football team

A Purdue football player with deep ties to the university received a special honor at practice Thursday.

Walkon offensive lineman Ethan Trent was singled out by firstyear head coach Barry Odom, who announced the sophomore had been put on scholarship.

Trent smiled broadly as he shook hands with Odom and his teammates erupted in celebration.
