Indiana State Police arrest hearsedriving Terre Haute man after Lafayette chase

Indiana State Police arrested a 39yearold Terre Haute man after he allegedly led a trooper on a chase while driving a hearse Friday night in Lafayette.

According to a release from ISP, just after 10 p.m. on April 11, a state police trooper was patrolling the area of Sagamore Parkway near Kossuth Street when the trooper saw a hearse, flashing red and white lights, driving northbound in the southbound lanes of Sagamore Parkway.

Before the hearse reached South Street, it reportedly got back into the northbound lanes, but then blew through a stop light and continued northbound.

The patrolling trooper then attempted to initiate a traffic stop, but the hearse ignored the troopers attempt.
