Carmel Marathon cancelled Saturday due to weather

The Carmel Marathon has been cancelled due to weather, according to a statement on Carmel Marathons website.

Event organizers said the radar shows heavy thunderstorms between 7:40 8:20 a.m., and then another round of strong storms around 10:00 a.m., with the potential for more later in the day.

They urged marathon participants to not come to the start/finish venue and to seek shelter.
