On the anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.s assassination, in the spot where Sen. Robert Kennedy united people after Dr. Kings death, Indianapolis city leaders broke ground on a project that will enhance the historic park.
Indianapolis, is proud to start work on a project that will bring Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Park to new heights that will elevate this historic site to match its national significance and its invaluable legacy, said Indianapolis mayor Joe Hogsett.
Renderings show what the park will look like when the 6.8 million project is done.
Park goers will enjoy a new plaza, walkways, and an expansion of the Landmark for Peace Memorial.
