Lafayette Fire Department mourning loss of firefighter who died on duty

The Lafayette Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of its own.

Sgt. John Robinson was pronounced dead Monday, April 14 after he was found unresponsive while on duty at Fire Station 9.

Robinson, 53, had served with the fire department for nearly 30 years.

A release from the department said Robinson was known for his dedication, bravery, and commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our community.
