Astronomers have found possible chemical signs of life on a distant planet outside our solar system, though they caution more work is needed to confirm their findings.

The research, led by scientists at the University of Cambridge, detected evidence of compounds in the exoplanets atmosphere that on Earth are only produced by living organisms and contended its the strongest potential signal yet of life.

Independent scientists described the findings as interesting, but not nearly enough to show the existence of life on another planet.

IMPD homicide detectives, with the help from multiple agencies, arrested an 18yearold man and a 19yearold woman for their alleged roles in a deadly shooting on the north side of Indianapolis in January.

Around 1:15 a.m. Jan. 25, IMPD officers responded to the 4900 block of East 49th Street, near North Arlington Avenue, on a report of shots fired.

Officers in Johnson County arrested dozens of people Wednesday morning during a countywide drug bust.

Johnson County Sheriff Duane Burgess confirmed to 13News that officers have arrested 25 out of the 45 people theyre seeking as of 12:30 p.m. April 16.

A mobilization of about 50 members of the Indiana National Guard sent to the U.S. southern border is ending, and members deployed on the mission will return in the coming weeks, officials said Wednesday.

Operation Lone Star began in April 2024 when the Indiana contingent was sent to provide support to U.S. Customs and Border Patrol and the members of the Texas National Guard. The request for Indiana assistance came from Texas Gov. Greg Abbott in early 2024.

A 13yearold girl was killed and another child was injured when their bicycle collided with an ambulance in Terre Haute Tuesday evening.

According to the Terre Haute Police Department, the children were riding a bicycle at South 13th Street and Wheeler Avenue on the citys south side around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday when they were struck. The TransCare ambulance involved in the collision was en route to a singlevehicle accident with injury at another location in Vigo County when the crash occurred.
