Erik and Lyle Menendez could learn this week whether theyll get reduced sentences and the chance for freedom nearly 30 years after they were convicted of murdering their parents.

A Los Angeles judge will preside over the resentencing hearing expected to last two days starting Thursday. The judge could make a verbal decision during the hearing or rule later with a written decision. If he shortens their sentences, the brothers would still need approval from the states parole board to get out of prison.

A developer is seeking to rezone nearly 470 acres in Franklin Township for a proposed data center, and residents got the chance to learn more at a community meeting Wednesday.

The Franklin Township Civic Leagues Land Use and Zoning Committee discussed the proposal during its regular monthly meeting on April 16 at the Civic League Community Building. The meeting was open to the public.

Residents of all ages in a small Michigan community formed a human chain and helped a local bookshop move each of its 9,100 books one by one to a new storefront about a block away.

The book brigade of around 300 people stood in two lines running along a sidewalk in downtown Chelsea on Sunday, passing each title from Serendipity Books former location directly to the correct shelves in the new building, down the block and around the corner on Main Street.
