Police are investigating a video of the accused WilmerHutchins High School shooter, Tracy Haynes Jr. WFAA sources say the video was filmed shortly after gunshots wounded four of his classmates.

The video was initially posted on Instagram, and our sources confirmed its authenticity Wednesday. Police have not yet revealed a motive in this case, but those sources tell WFAA they are using the clip not just to figure out what happened, but also possibly why it happened.

In the video, Haynes says, I know I was wrong for what I did. I didnt want to do it, but I had to do it.

In the clip, Haynes does not specify exactly what he did. But did say he loved his nieces and nephews, and that he believed people were going to kill him.

Florida State University issued an alert to students Thursday, saying an active shooter was reported in the area of the universitys Student Union.

An FSU Alert, the universitys emergency notification and warning system, told students to seek shelter and await further instructions.

The alert said police were on the way to the scene.

Astronomers have found possible chemical signs of life on a distant planet outside our solar system, though they caution more work is needed to confirm their findings.

The research, led by scientists at the University of Cambridge, detected evidence of compounds in the exoplanets atmosphere that on Earth are only produced by living organisms and contended its the strongest potential signal yet of life.

Independent scientists described the findings as interesting, but not nearly enough to show the existence of life on another planet.
