IMPD briefs media following triple shooting on Indys east side
IMPD is investigating after three people were shot on the citys east side Wednesday afternoon.
Police responded to a report of a person shot around 3:45 p.m. April 16 in the 1200 block of North Irvington Avenue, near 10th Street and North Ritter Avenue.
An IMPD spokesperson confirmed three people were shot. Police said two of the gunshot victims are in critical condition and the third gunshot victims condition is described as stable.

Northbound U.S. 31 closed in Westfield after fatal crash between semi, car
One person was killed in a crash between a car and semi along U.S. 31 in Westfield Wednesday morning.
The crash was reported shortly before 7 a.m. April 16 near the 130 milemarker, just north of the 161st Street exit.
A preliminary investigation indicated the car was southbound on U.S. 31 when it crossed left over the grassy median for unknown reasons and crashed into a northbound semi, a Westfield Police Department spokesperson said in a statement.
The driver of the car, a man, died in the crash, while the semi driver, also a man, was taken to a local hospital with nonlifethreatening injuries, police said.

No murder charges after a backseat shootout leaves 2 people dead in Brownsburg
Four people between the ages of 20 and 22 are facing charges in connection to a deadly double shooting in Brownsburg.
Around 2:30 a.m. March 5, Brownsburg police officers reported hearing gunshots near their location in the 300 block of Acre Avenue, near East Main and South Green streets.
While searching the area and receiving 911 calls about shots being fired, officers found two men dead inside a Dodge Durango. They were later identified as 19yearold Lucas Brearley and 25yearold Zachary Johnson, both of Indianapolis.

Yesterday, the high was only 54 degrees, but today we are headed to the mid60s after our frosty start. Look for jacket weather this morning and sunglasses will be needed later this afternoon.
Look for a high of 60 degrees Thursday with a front moving in bringing rain and a cooler breeze, but we will be looking for a change Friday night into Saturday with highs in upper 70s and cooling to the low 60s Saturday. Saturday, by the way, is the first day of the playoffs for the Pacers against Milwaukee at 1 p.m., and later that evening the Indy Eleven host the Charleston Battery and offer a special Chuck Lofton retirement ticket and Tshirt package.

Indianapolis Zoo announces name of baby orangutan
The votes are in!
The Indianapolis Zoo has announced the name of its baby orangutan meet Edi, which means handsome one.
Edi was born to mother Sirih and father Basan on Feb. 20 in the Simon Skjodt International Orangutan Center.
According to the Indianapolis Zoo, out of the more than 9,000 votes cast, Edi captured 50% of the vote, followed by Ketambe with 38% and Lada with 12%.
