A 15yearold boy has been arrested after a shooting that killed two people and injured a third on Indys near northwest side Sunday evening, according to an IMPD public police report.
The teen faces a preliminary charge of murder, the report indicates.
The shooting was reported shortly before 8 p.m. April 6 in the 1400 block of West 27th Street, near North Harding Street.

Temperatures are starting off near the freezing mark this morning as areas of patchy dense fog develop. Temperatures will warm into the low to mid 50s in the early afternoon ahead of another cold front in the late afternoon. Outside of a stray mixed shower, this will be a mainly dry front, but have a bigger impact on our temperatures.
With an abnormally warm and wet start to spring, growing seasons have already begun. Due to this, a Freeze Warning will be in effect overnight into Tuesday morning as temperatures forecast to drop into the mid 20s with wind chill values as chilly as 1520. While we see a quiet, dry and sunny day, itll be unseasonably cool with highs in the mid 40s.

Indianapolis police and firefighters responded to a train derailment on Indys near southeast side Sunday afternoon.
According to both IMPD and IFD, around 6:30 p.m. April 6, officers responded to the area of Southeastern Avenue and South Sherman Drive and discovered a train had derailed.
Officials on the scene said six of the trains cars derailed. Two of those cars spilled cornstarch, while the others were empty.

An Indiana middle school teacher has been arrested and charged with three counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.
The Monticello Police Department said they arrested Timothy Bulow, 30, of Monticello, on Thursday, April 3, 2025 following an ongoing investigation into allegations of inappropriate behavior involving a minor.
Bulow is a teacher at Roosevelt Middle School in Monticello, police said.

After a weekend of rain and flooding, the rivers the surround Columbus appear to be reaching their peaks.
I havent seen nothing like this since in 2008 when they had the big one then, said Roger Montgomery, who was out Sunday walking his dog, Skipper, at Mill Race Park.
The park, which sits just east of The Flat Rock River, was nearly completely underwater. The river crested at 16 feet on Sunday, reaching moderate flood stage. The East Fork of the White River in Columbus reached major flood stage, cresting just over 17 feet on Sunday.
Nearby State Road 46the main thoroughfare in and out of the citywas closed to vehicle traffic. It is one of dozens forced to be closed throughout the county because of high water.

Shelbyville remains under a state of emergency due to flooding affecting both the Big Blue and Little Blue Rivers, city officials said in a news release Sunday afternoon.
According to city officials, there has already been significant damage throughout the floodplain, including uprooted trees that are floating downstream.

A wouldbe burglar is dead after they were shot Sunday afternoon in Martinsville.
According to a release from the Martinsville Police Department, around 1:30 p.m. on April 6, officers were called to the 500 block of West Pike Street on a report of an attempted burglary.
Police say the homeowner, who was home at the time of the attempted burglary, was armed and shot and killed the suspect. The identities of the homeowner and the suspect are not being released until family has been notified.
