China announced Friday that it will raise tariffs on U.S. goods from 84% to 125% the latest salvo in an escalating trade war between the worlds two largest economies that has rattled markets and raised fears of a global slowdown.

While U.S. President Donald Trump paused import taxes this week for other countries, he raised tariffs on China and they now total 145%. China has denounced the policy as economic bullying and promised countermeasures. The new tariffs begin Saturday.

The Supreme Court on Thursday said the Trump administration must facilitate the return of a Maryland man who was mistakenly deported to El Salvador, rejecting the administrations emergency appeal.

The court acted in the case of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Salvadoran citizen who had an immigration court order preventing his deportation to his native country over fears he would face persecution from local gangs.

The U.S. Postal Service is seeking a rate increase this summer that includes hiking the cost of a firstclass stamp from 73 cents to 78 cents.

The request was made on Wednesday to the Postal Regulatory Commission, which must OK the proposal. If approved, the 5cent increase for a forever stamp and similar increases for postcards, metered letters and international mail would take effect July 13.

Wawa has announced the opening date and location of its first store in Indiana.

The grand opening at the Daleville store, located at 16100 W. Commerce Road, will be Thursday, May 15.

According to a news release, up to 10 Wawa stores are expected to open in Indiana by the end of 2025.

The Indianapolis Colts have released kicker Matt Gay.

The team made the announcement on social media Thursday, April 10.

The Colts now have one kicker on their roster Spencer Shrader a 2024 undrafted free agent who spent time last season with the Colts, New York Jets and Kansas City Chiefs.

A brief, EF1 tornado hit the east side of Princeton Community High School campus, crossed Main Street and pushed into the NE side of Princeton.

Hail and wind reports came in across southern Indiana as well.

An Indianapolis woman, charged in two separate fatal crashes, was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to two counts of reckless homicide.

The judge sentenced Kelli Anderson to 84 more days in jail, followed by three years of supervised probation. Her license is also suspended for 10 years. Anderson got the maximum threeyear sentence but got credit for time she had already served while awaiting trial.
